Vacuum fluctuations

Score Excerpt

This piece is part of the cycle Collision 1 – Vacuum Fluctuations – Questions de temps. But it can also be played separately.

Some particles can be considered as transient fluctuations of the fundamental fields. They are called virtual particles. Their existence depends on the level of energy of their — musically speaking — “fundamentals.” The general fact that energy can create mass (and vice versa) inspired me to write this composition. It is a subjective translation of some laws and theories coming from modern physics, for example: the shorter a sound, the higher its energy/mass. Creation is popping out of the vacuum.
