This scenic concert piece explores the language of light in dialogue with music. The musicians have to face voyeuristic beams, cymbals burning like suns, a red and forbidden space. Or is it a cell protecting a secret that only the violist can access? The story is not revealed, but it can be seen through such formal elements. From a musical point of view, the return of certain colors, the repetition of “luminous gestures” contribute to the form and coherence of the various sections/scenes. Some of the musicians’ bodily interactions with light directly influence compositional writing.
